John Holiday says the first full week of the year will be a huge shift.
The holidaymaker will see the first new moon and a total eclipse.
He says it’s going to be a great time to relax and get to know some new places.
We’re seeing the first signs of spring and we’ve got a lot of new plants and flowers and all kinds of things coming up,” he said.”
I’m very excited about the moon coming up, but I don’t think it’s too much for me to wait a little bit longer to go on a journey.
“It’s really good to get out there and see new places, but that’s about it.
We’re just going to have to wait until the last week of May to see the new moon.”
There are still some parts of the world with very little snow or rain, with parts of western New South Wales forecast to get between two and three centimetres of rain.
But, for the most part, things are going to get better as the season approaches.
“The rain is starting to come down and it’s coming from the north,” he says.
“A lot of the rivers and streams are receding and it will be really nice to have a bit of rain in the south.”
But the south is still in the middle of the winter so we’re just trying to manage the temperature.
“In the winter, the south has a lot less to look forward to than the north.
So I think we’ll be alright.”
